Vishwa Vidhyapeeth School Students Experience Organic Farming

We recently hosted 25 students from Vishwa Vidhyapeeth School, Bangalore, for a 5-day hands-on learning program on our farm. The group, all 7th class students, came with great energy and curiosity, ready to experience organic farming up close.

They were divided into smaller groups, with each group learning how to make natural bio-inputs like Jeevamrutham and Neemasthram. They measured, mixed, and stirred the ingredients themselves, understanding how these natural preparations keep crops healthy without chemicals.

A major highlight was the jaggery-making process. The students didn’t just watch—they took part in every step. From harvesting sugarcane in the field, to feeding it into the crusher, boiling the juice, and finally shaping the jaggery into balls, they experienced the full journey of farm to sweetener.

They also prepared soil beds and sowed beans, carefully planting them at the right depth and spacing. Before they left, the seeds had already sprouted, and the sight brought big smiles to their faces.

Throughout their stay, they worked hard, asked questions, and brought an infectious energy that made the whole farm lively. It was heartening to see them leave with a stronger connection to the land and the food they eat.
